You are required to register your vehicle and apply for a Georgia Certificate of Title within 30 days of establishing residency. If a vehicle is primarily used in connection with a business and the business is not located in the county in which you live, the vehicle must be registered in the county in which the business is located. New Georgia residents must apply for a Georgia driver’s license within 30 days. All other licenses must be surrendered prior to issuance of a Georgia license and proper identification will be required. Persons 18 or over who surrender a valid license from another state of the United States will be required to successfully pass an eye examination. Please see the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety website for more information. New Georgia residents must purchase a license tag within 30 days. Tags can be purchased at the Tax Commissioner’s office at 202 South Irwin Avenue (229/468-5055). |
